Job description

We’re looking for a skilled Database Administrator to take full ownership of our diverse database environment, including relational, graph, and vector databases. This environment operates within a DevOps-driven, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) culture, deployed on Kubernetes clusters. 

 

Your responsibilities 

  • Architecture & Design: Audit existing systems, collaborate on database design, and guide technology selection for microservices. 

  • Performance Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize queries across large datasets and big data workloads. 

  • Backup & Recovery: Implement robust disaster recovery strategies within Kubernetes environments. 

  • Security: Enforce access control, encryption, and vulnerability management in containerized infrastructure. 

  • Monitoring: Configure Prometheus/Grafana systems for proactive issue identification. 

  • Kubernetes Management: Deploy and maintain database stack using operators and Infrastructure as Code. 

  • Incident Response: Lead database troubleshooting and participate in on-call rotation. 

Job requirements

Your Skills and Experiences  

  • Over 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong track record in performance tuning and optimization. 

  • Expertise in both SQL and NoSQL databases, with hands-on experience managing large-scale datasets (terabyte+). 

  • Advanced knowledge of containerization, using Docker and Kubernetes to run and manage database workloads efficiently. 

  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code, leveraging tools like Terraform, Ansible and Helm. 

  • Experienced with modern monitoring solutions, including Prometheus, Grafana, and AlertManager. 

  • Skilled in managing on-premise infrastructure, with a focus on self-managed database environments. 

  • Well-versed in database clustering and high-availability setups. 

  • Familiarity with graph databases (Neo4j) and vector databases (Weaviate), is a nice to have.
